Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Hilo, Hawaii

Support residents in long-term care and skilled nursing during a 13-week day assignment with Our Client. Deliver occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.

Local assignment. Advertised pay is entirely taxable W-2 wages; no travel reimbursement is included.

The opportunity

• Tentative start December 14, 2026; actual start and schedule are confirmed before an offer.
• Generally five days per week, potentially including one weekend day. Holiday coverage and floating to other units or facilities may be required.
• Hours are not guaranteed. The specific roster and assignment terms are discussed before placement.
• Be available in Hilo by the Thursday before starting for a required Friday employee-health appointment.

Your work

• Carry out individualized occupational therapy treatment plans and therapeutic activities within assistant scope of practice.
• Support residents in improving daily living skills and function; educate residents, families and caregivers.
• Document treatment and progress accurately and communicate changes to the supervising occupational therapist.
• Coordinate with the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary team. Orientation to departmental workflows and electronic documentation is provided.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapy Assistant education and current NBCOT COTA certification.
• Hawaii Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing by the assignment start date.
• Current BLS and at least two years of relevant rehabilitation experience; SNF/ICF experience is preferred.
• Complete required health, screening and credential clearance before starting.

Travel reimbursement eligibility and amounts are determined independently based on the employee’s circumstances, assignment location, and applicable reimbursement guidelines.
